FireDaemon Pro is comprised of two core components: the FireDaemon Pro Command Line (CLI) and the FireDaemon Pro Service Manager (GUI). The GUI provides a "front-end" to the CLI. The GUI provides some additional functionality not found in the CLI. This includes the ability to start related applications such as the Event Viewer and Services Control Panel Applet. In most cases the use of the GUI is sufficient to manage services. However, under certain circumstances, the CLI might be a desirable choice. For example, if there is the requirement to install services in a batch or as part of another application's installer or when there is no GUI present (for example, when using a machine remotely via SSH or Telnet).
